The season of the King of the fruits is here! "Mango". And so is this delicacy that my mom prepares using the Mango. This is a traditional dish that my family prepares in Goa. It is alike a curry and can be eaten with Chapati/rice. Also called "Saasav" in Goan.
It is one of my favorites and is scrumptious...

MY new Home: Lake Town
This place is so gorgeous. Although i do not stay of the 12th floor, I got a chance to click a pic with the view of the Katraj lake behind ... This place is like heaven... I can get up everyday to find the birds chirping aloud and the still Katraj lake. And if your lucky u can also catch the ducks in the lake. Beautiful. All the pictures here are either from the top floor or our building Terrace..The waterfall one is from my balcony though... And in the rains, when the lake overflows, it imitates a little water fall view for us to watch the water fall across the walls ...

Raja Ravi Varma

Raja Ravi Varma:
"It is rare to come across in these days, men like him, artists like him, lovers of India like him."
- (Dr. Abanindranath Tagore, connoisseur of Indian art)

Another well said verse by a fan:
"An artist who is credited with bringing about a momentous turn in the art of India, Raja RaviVarma influenced future generations of artists from different streams. He was the first artist to cast the Indian Gods and mythological characters in natural earthy surroundings using a European realism; a depiction adopted not only by the Indian “calendar-art”- spawning ubiquitous images of Gods and Goddesses, but also by literature and later by the Indian film industry- affecting their dress and form even today. His dazzling oil paintings of India’s ancient glory delighted turn-of-the-century India and his mass reproductions reached out to the Indian populace in an unprecedented scale.
"
I do not know much about paintings, but this painting remains to be one of my favorites. Its called "Lady with the Lamp" and painted by gifted, Raja Ravi Varma. This persona was introduced to me by my bhai, Suraj, when we had a family trip to Kerala. And he had bought a paiting of this sort painted on a mat. (I still fight with him to get it back here so we can put it up at our home... :) .) Then i found out about all the paitings of Ravi Varma. And simply fell in love with them.

This painting depicts the "Nilavilakku" that the lady holds. The Nilavilakku is integral to all the rituals and ceremonies in a Malayalee's (Keralite) life. As dusk creeps in, young girls of the family bring the lighted lamps (nilavilakku) to the verandah of the house. In the flickering light of the nilavilakku she is joined by the children and elders of the family, especially the grandparents, in chanting hymns and evening prayers.

Destination Sinhagad: Loads of fun again...

Destination Shegaon: Our first trip all together which was overnight .. a 2 days trip .. via train ... This journey has so many memories ... I shall let the pictures speak ....

Destination Panshet: Another one of the gorgeous scenic places we have been to ... Pictures will do the rest of the talking ...

Destination Matheran: This is one of my fav pic ... My photography talent ... :D
This place was very very beautiful ... It was at Lohagad ... At this point we are at the top where a little water fall flows in front of us and the wind there is so strong and flows against the water which is falling down.. So ultimately the water which is falling down is blown up again because of the wind ... We were getting drenched in those sprinkles of water blown up.. it was chilly n beautiful ...
Destination NDA ... We got an entire tour of the NDA in Pune thanks to Vinu/Vidyanand, Magi's younger brother who is an NDA Cadet ... This was very fortunate of us to happen... This entire tour makes you feel very proud of the People who are fighting for us.. Gives us a very patriotic feeling ... You can see the Sudan block. Here we can see the photographs of the brave and heroic NDA cadets ... It is one of the most majestic monument here ....

Destination Matheran: College trip... This was one of our earliest trip. Matheran is a beautiful place ... We would more over associate it with scenic views and Monkeys ... We had an incident here when me amey and magi were walking among the huge trees and I and Amey had these packets of chips in our hand... And suddenly a big bunch of monkeys came surrounding us for the packet ... We were so frightened we threw the packets towards them and ran off... A moment to remember .. Another incident was when suddenly it was raining cats and dogs and amongst the trees ... suddenly lightning struck somewhere near us and we were all so stunned .. we all ran here and there for cover... An amazing experience was when we reached at a a point and there were frosty clouds coming towards us and we have pictures taken amongst this white frosty cloudy atmosphere ... was amazing .... Was a memorable trip ....
